Director’s Welcome

Our Unique Place in the Educational Landscape

In a country renowned for its unique blend of rich history, breathtaking natural wonders, and a deeply rooted, yet progressive, culture, I am proud to lead Al Sahwa School, a K-12 IB World School. Founded in 1993 on land gifted by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Al Sahwa holds an important place in Oman’s educational landscape due to its rich heritage and tradition. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to being a bilingual (Arabic and English) institution, deeply interwoven with Oman’s vibrant cultural heritage. This strong emphasis on local culture distinguishes us from many other international schools.

A Community United by Purpose

Our school community’s rich diversity is unified by our commitment to a shared vision, mission, and values. Being part of something bigger than ourselves is a fundamental human need and a powerful source of meaning, purpose, and well-being. It taps into our innate desire for connection and contribution, enriching the lives of everyone involved.

Nurturing Hearts, Minds, and Potential

As an IB school, Al Sahwa emphasizes inquiry-based and student-centered learning, encouraging students to ask questions, discover, and make meaning of the world around them. This approach empowers students to develop a growth mindset and essential future-focused habits and skills like communication, self-management, research, critical thinking, and social skills. Beyond academics, Al Sahwa is dedicated to the development of compassionate, confident, and responsible citizens, aligning with the IB Learner Profile attributes and our school’s core values of Respect, Service, and Integrity.

Unity in Diversity

I am joined by a dedicated staff of innovative and curious educators. We pride ourselves on recruiting a diverse faculty, representing many different nationalities, which significantly enriches the international-mindedness of our school and prepares students to become truly global citizens. While our student population is predominantly Omani, this international staff greatly contributes to our vibrant multicultural environment. Always prioritizing our students' best interests, they bring our ambitious Learning Programme to life while wholeheartedly fostering curiosity, compassion, and kindness.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Student Outcomes

Being a fully authorized IB World School and holding Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to rigorous international educational standards.

Come and Experience a Warm Al Sahwa Welcome.

At Al Sahwa, we are dedicated to creating a truly unique and enriching educational experience that profoundly nurtures the hearts, minds, and full potential of every student. I am genuinely excited and humbled to be a part of this community, and we look forward to welcoming you.
